Groove Analogizer is an "audio controlled drum synthesizer", it means that like a vintage electronic drum tone generator (e.g. Simmons) the percussion sound is triggered by an audio input, not by a MIDI message. This also means that you must not load, in the host, Groove Analogizer as a VST instrument, it loads as a VST effect, usually in an insert slot.

But it's really a synth: the sound of three oscillators is triggered and shaped by the audio input in many ways.

How triggering works in Groove Analogizer:

A trigger can be any kind of percussive* sound, both mono or stereo, it can be a wav file or another VST instrument.
(*Percussive means: with fast attack time and fast or moderate decay/release time)

For each of the three generators you can choose left, right or left+right input, input can be both mono or stereo, then a band pass filter allows you to select (coarse and fine) which frequency range of the audio source will be used for triggering, this way you can separate hi, mid and low tones in the audio input, allowing you to isolate different trigger patterns from the same complex audio source (e.g. you can input a full drums loop and select snare for trigger 1, bass drum for trigger 2 and hihat for trigger 3).
Groove Analogizer also features Pre-Listening (PL button), so that you can monitor which part of the source is selected as trigger.

Another control at the input named Sensitivity allows to fine select the loudest triggers filtered by the band pass. So that you may include ghost notes or avoid them.

HG Fortune - Ultra Swamp free

Ultra Swamp is a completely reworked version of Swamp/Swamp XT so there are a quite a few differences to the prior versions and a hugely increased sonic potential! It's really for the good, the bad and the weird sounds thus ranging from sweet over dark to really strange stuff; transforming the wave samples beyond recognition. This is a swamp where you throw something in but get something more useful out again and it's not just for pads and atmos but also for quite snappy percussive & sequencer sounds.

There is only one TimbreModulator but with selectable input source: Osc 1, Osc2 or even both! Instead of the 2nd Timbremodulator there is a 'real' Ringmodulator, yes, the real deal as far as software can do it! The mod Oscillator for RingMod ranges from approx. 7Hz to 100Hz, so the typical 50Hz AC is possible. As RingMod generates the sum and difference of the input signals it can give quite a low punch. This one is with selectable input source: Osc 1, Osc2, plus the output of TimbreMod too! As both of these soundshapers have great  capabilities to transform the signal of the oscillators they have both independant outputs and are treated as secondary soundsources.

Thus the new Swamp has quite increased sonic capabilities at this stage already. Anyway the SF2 oscilators come with 256 carefully selected waves though some maybe suited better for RingMod while others are better suited for TimbreMod.

Of course there is the wellknown resonant 24dB LowPass, a 12db HiPass and a Bandpass Filter with a 4 channel adaptive mod mixer so 4 source can be mixed to modulate Cutoff. This is great to create new mixes of LFO modulations. The output sections has increased a lot. Besides the delay there is a stereo Flanger and Stereo Reverb with PreDelay and LowCutoff  to remove lower frequencies for an optimized Reverb response (use this if the rev 'shatters' in low range.

As Modsources there are 3 LFO, 1 S&H, 1 Double LFO with Phase shifting for one with is best useful for the flanger. Also there is a new Gator which effect can be mixed on the output level so you can adjust the amount of gating on the output, with enhanced routings including modulating pan of the delayed signal.

We tried to program a sound similar to a ping pong ball bouncing on a table, finding later that it was more intersting to alter the sound with few effects like delay, reverb and a band-pass filter (with the chance to control their amounts via velocity). Eight different effects presets are directly available from the performance view in Kontakt.

A VST plug-in which emulates the playback speed imperfections of the pre-digital era.

• playback speed is modulated in realtime by up to six oscillators
• intuitive controls: Non-linearly scaled controls allow to directly set the perceived pitch deviation depth and rate resulting from the playback speed modulation.
• dual mode: In dual mode the left and the right channel are modulated separately.
• flange mode: When the modulated signal is mixed with the original signal a flanging effect occurs. This feature recalls the times when recording engineers created a flange effect by applying pressure on the tape reel with their hand. Additional controls for feedback and delay allow to create more intense flange effects. Although the unit can be pushed to self-oscillation in extreme settings it will never cause digital clipping thanks to a compressor algorithm inserted into the feedback path.
• A built-in test tone generator makes it easy to quickly check a particular setting with different signals or to use the plug-in as a self-contained "noise maker".
• If a control has no influence on the sound in a certain mode it will disappear from the surface.
• All parameters are controllable by midi controllers.
• Pop-up hints help to understand the function of each control on the user interface. These appear when the mouse rests over a control.
• Also the assignment of midi controllers is documented in the pop-up hints.
