Free VST - Humanoid Sound Systems - Enzyme Player

Enzyme Player contains the complete synthesis engine from the full (award-winning) Enzyme synth. It does not allow access to all of the parameters of the full version of Enzyme, and it does not allow the saving of presets. This means that it has the essentials for music creation but cannot be used for the full range of sound design that is possible with Enzyme.

Dexed is a multi platform, multi format plugin synth that is closely modeled on the Yamaha DX7. Under the hood it uses music-synthesizer-for-android for the synth engine.

The goal of this project is to be a tool/companion for the original DX7. Sound engine with 'float' value parameters, different waveform à la TX81z would be great but anything that goes beyond the DX7 should and will be a fork of this project. This is to keep the compatibility with the original machine.

Dexed is licensed on the GPL v2.

How do you use it?:

• you can use two tempo-synced LFOs to modulate various parameters for creating interesting rhythmic effects and chord variations.
• a unique feature is the possiblity to modulate the sequencer step size itself, which is useful for creating glitchy stuttering effects.
• another thing you can use is a groove function for playing slightly off the beat. The groove parameters can also be modulated over time by the LFOs, adding to the rhythmic variation.

Free VST - Noisebud - Fletchy-Muncher VST Plugin

Fletchy-Muncher exaggerate the Fletcher-Munson effect to detect masked harshness in mixes with too much high and low-end (very common in bedroom and home-studio productions).

If you mixed and mastered something at home and excited as a kid on Christmas-eve patiently waiting for the DJ to drop it in the club and when he finally does, with the volume cranked up to 11, it sound like someone hitting a hammer on a anvil and you see people with bleeding ears everywhere, then you need this...

How to use:
Put it last in your chain and slowly start to move the knob against the 'Default' position. A good blanaced mix/master should survive all the way to 'Default' with just a little increase in harshness. If you find your mix too harsh halfway through you'll have to go back to the mix/master and use EQ, MB compression or other tools to soften it a bit.

Remember to put the plugin at 'Flat', bypass it or remove it before bounce your new mix/master.

DISCLAIMER
You only need this if your mixes/masters are too harsh when played outside of your studio. If that's not the case this method might cause more damage than good to your tracks.

MrRay SeventyThree is a Rhodes Mark I emulation.

This version of MrRay is characterized by a series of "imperfections" introduced in order to capture, with the highest possible fidelity, the sound of a Mark I. There are mallet noises, wooden noises, metallic artifacts and changes of volume for each single note. Also, the lower notes have a particular "growl" when you hit them hard, and when you hit more keys really hard, you'll hear them "vibrating", originally due to the instability of the harp assembly inside the real instrument. You won't hear the exact same sound twice when you play it. When keys are released you'll hear the noises produced by the "dampers" which stop the vibration of the tines.
