Dr. Speaker Blower presents Lusus, a simple but powerful virtual analogue synthesizer with a total of 16 voices. It is powered by 4 oscillators per voice (2 analogue and 2 digital - where you draw the waveform), 1 multimode filter (LP, HP, BP, Notch and Peak), 2 envelopes and 1 LFO. There´s also a wavescope where you can see the synthesizer´s output waveform (and its changes) in real time. Powerful effects section with OuraDrive (now also available as a separate vst plugin), Chorus and Delay. The tandem filter-ouradrive-chorus works particulary well, being the responsable for the synthesizer´s fat and warm sound. Lusus is completely automatable, has 32 presets onboard and is a free stand alone application (PC only) and/or a PC VST instrument.

GSnap is an auto-tune effect. It can be used subtly to correct the pitch of a vocal, or, with more extreme settings, to create a robot-voice effect.For GSnap to work effectively, the input signal should be monophonic, at a good level and reasonably noise-free. For example, a clean, mono vocal recording, without excessive noise or reverb. Effect plug-ins should be placed after GSnap in the signal chain.

GSnap starts off by detecting the pitch of the incoming audio. The Min Freq and Max Freq parameters help the pitch-detector by narrowing the range of frequencies it needs to consider. Also, the Gate parameter should be set so that the pitch-detector ignores background noise during "silent" passages.

The Speed parameter sets the number of wave repetitions required for positive pitch-detection. Lower values for Speed will allow faster pitch-detection, but will increase the chance of false detection. The default value should be fine in most cases.Once a pitch has been determined, GSnap applies the specified pitch-correction. There are two modes of pitch correction: fixed scale and MIDI. Fixed scale correction has a fixed set of snap-notes, while MIDI correction is controlled in real time by MIDI data.

The Threshold parameter sets the largest pitch-shift that will be applied to the input. It defines a region around each snap-note that will be corrected to that note. The GUI shows the snap-notes and regions in effect at any time.The pitch-detection and correction can be made to use a different reference frequency using the Calibrate parameter. This sets the frequency of A above middle C.

Additionally, GSnap will respond to pitch-bend and modulation MIDI messages to apply pitch-bend and vibrato. The Pitch Bend, Vibrato and Vib Speed parameters control these effects.

It has functions for live performance, allowing changes in several controls with one click. The Step Modulator has 4 "scenes" that work as sub-presets of quick access. The filters bring special features for working in the stereo panorama spectrum. The "Vintager" effect generates vintage warmth to the sound.

IVGI can deliver very soft and subtle saturation, that feels at home on the master buss. It is equally capable of very dense and dirty distortion effects to spice up single tracks. IVGI's base sound is comparable to the DESK mode in the upcoming big brother SDRR.

Just as SDRR, IVGI reacts dynamically to the input signal. Even the modelled fluctuations react dynamically and also change depending on the drive setting, so that it doesn't get in the way of the SOUND. Stereo tracks benefit from it's modelled crosstalk behaviour. Just as its big brother SDRR, IVGI features a "Controlled Randomness", which determines the internal drift and variance inside the unit. It contributes to the livelyness and realness of IVGI's saturation character. All internal processes are modulated to some extent to make this possible.

IVGI gives you a sensible amount of controls to manipulate the character of the saturation itself. It offers a unique ASYM MIX knob to alter the symmetry of the signal without affecting the harmonic content much. Usually, asymmetry leads to an increase of even order harmonics. But in IVGI's case, dialing in the asymmetry makes the negative part of the signal "cleaner". This way you can preserve the dynamic structrure of the source better and get a more transparent result. Actually, you can think of ASYM MIX as a transparency control.

IVGI also lets you alter the frequency dependency of the saturation with the RESPONSE control.

IVGI is internally calibrated to 0VU = -18dBFS.

Free VST - DDMF - ColourEQ

Not just another EQ: with its custom-made 4th order IIR filter, ColourEQ sounds unlike any other EQ you have ever come across. It comes with five bands of \"super parametric\" peaking filters, which means that there is one more parameter in addition to the traditional gain/width/frequency set that can influence the curve shape. These shapes cannot be reproduced by ordinary IIR equalizers.

Further features include: adjustable GUI colours, freely resizable window size, internal 64 bit processing and low CPU usage. Available in Windows VST (32/64 bit), Windows/Mac RTAS and Mac VST/AU format (Intel, OSX 10.5 and higher).
