Doppler Dome is a VST plug-in based on the Doppler effect. Explained simply, the Doppler effect is something that happens to sound when the listener and the sound source are getting closer together or farther appart. For example, a car sound when you are in the car might have a particular frequency, but the frequency will be lower if the car is moving away from you, and will be like a record played at a lower speed. If the car passes right by you it will be high as it gets closer and then low as it gets farther. Doppler dome lets you adjust the amount of the pitch effect as well as pan and volume based on distance.

In Doppler Dome, the center is the listener and the sound source moves along a path. Drag the dots to adjust the path's bezier curves. The path can act like an LFO, or a loop. A midi note in message sent to the plugin will reset the path position to sync it with the project. 

The Blend will mix the pitch effect with the dry signal, this is a bit like a chorus or modulated delay. The Pitch Scale knob determines how much pitch is affected, it can be turned off by setting it to zero. The Volume Scale Scale knob determines how much volume affected, based on distance. The Pan Scale Scale knob determines how much L/R position is affected, based on left and right position.

The buttons and switches can be used to set up curves and lines for the path (mouse over them to see their description).

A1TriggerGate is a 'Sequenced Gate' plugin to chop up any incoming audio signal. It is a well known effect in electronic music and sometimes also known as 'Trance Gate' effect.

Pattern Sequence

This plugin synchronizes to the host sequencer / DAW tempo. Each internal sequencer pattern consists of 4 beats / 16 steps (or 12 steps in Triplet mode). Each step length is eighter a 'ShortStep', 'LongStep', 'StepLink' or 'NoStep' and has its own step volume fader. There are 8 independent patterns that can be switched via automation.

Integrated FX

The integrated FX (Lowpass Filter, Drive/Distortion and Echo/Delay) are designed for easy usage. There is only a minimal number of parameters to get the desired effect as fast as possible. Of course there is a 'Global FX Off' switch to step through all presets without hearing any of the integrated FX. Professional producers will appreciate that little feature.

Pattern Commands

In Expert Mode there a 4 pattern command tabs featuring 'shift left/right', 'copy & paste, 'random' and 'init' commands eighter for the step volume values, the step lenght values or all of them. Especially the 'random' command on step length values gives interesting results and is a good source for inspiration.

Guitar Gadgets is a compilation of "false" analog guitar pedal simulations, made to be used mainly with electric guitars and guitar amp simulations, but which may be sound interesting in any situation. The focus here wasn't to design classic effects, but weird, strange, ugly or "different" ones instead. The effects included are the following:

• Delay Attack: a delay effect which can be controlled by the way you attack the guitar strings.
• Super Phazor: a phaser effect with a feedback control.
• Niagara Falls: a bathroom / cathedral / Niagara Falls - like reverberation effect.
• The Crusher: an effect which brings only destruction and annihilation.
• Larsenator: a false larsen generator thanks to distortion and feedback.
• Combulator: a modulated comb filter effect.
• Miaou Miaou pedal: it's like a Wah Wah pedal, but it does "Miaou Miaou" instead.
• Microcassette: one particular tape recorder emulation, going a little too far maybe.
• Slicer: an effect which slices the sound from the guitar at any specified rate.
• Filtrator: a filter pedal effect like, based on the EMS VCS3 analog filter.
• Convolutor: a gadget to convolute weird sounds.

There is also a surprise somewhere (see the official thread on KVR forums for that !), some shiny animations, and a lot of fun I hope. Indeed, I tried to develop effects that are really amusing to use, and give sounds you don't often hear from your playing.

New with version 1.1.0 : now you can chain up to 4 gadgets in the same plug-in instance, and use the right click on any control to assign it to any MIDI Control Change (MIDI Learn). Moreover, you don't need anymore to play the easter egg game to unlock the HOT switch, even if doing so is still rewarding with new pedal skins.

New with version 1.2.0 : a preset system has been added with 2 new gadgets :

• Marshallizer: a guitar amp tonestack simulation.

PAL-9000 reacts to pitch bend, modulation wheel, channel aftertouch and its sequencers can run in sync with the host tempo (producing, sometimes, some rhythmic sequences perfect to be layered with drum loops). This instrument uses formant synthesis to generate rich, breathy pads sounds.

• Controls to all the typically fixed values for low-pass filters - both on the oscillator outputs (changes tone from full square wave to pure sine, or anywhere in between) as well as on the detection circuit (which can fine-tune the accuracy of the octave-divider's tracking).

• Option for two modes of operation: additive oscillators or phase-multiplier.

• The additive mode simply mixes in the octave down signals (via user-adjustable levels and wet/dry balance), whereas the phase-multiplier mode flips the phase of the key signal, following the state of the selected oscillator.

• In additive mode, dynamics for the oscillators can be controlled either by a noise gate or an envelope follower, both keyed off the input signal. In phase-multiplier mode, the full dynamics of the key signal are retained.

• A DC-offset switch corrects the input signal to improve tracking on rectified or offset signals.

• A scope displays both the key signal and the output signal, so the user can see how the plug-in is operating, and help identify what controls need to be adjusted in order to track more accurately or produce the intended sound. Includes a "Scope Tuning" control to affect the zoom ratio.

• "Listen" radio buttons allow the user to tap the audio at any stage to hear what's happening behind the scenes, and bypass certain sections if desired.

• Many users of the Boss OC-2 pedal seek to add a hardware modification that disables the output filter and dynamics sections in order to produce a more synth-like tone. This plug-in has the capability to easily reproduce this mod, by adjusting only a few parameters.
   

Included are some presets that run through the capabilities of the plug-in.
