Acon Digital Multiply is a versatile chorus effect with a unique twist. Each simulated voice is processed with a phase randomizing filter so that unpleasant comb filter effects are avoided. The effect can be used to simulate the effect of several performers playing the same tones simultaneously, to widen the spatial image or to create special effects for sound design. Multiply can simulate up to 6 additional voices and both the pitch and the loudness of the voices can be modulated. There is also an integrated equalizer consisting of low cut, low shelf, high shelf and high cut filters that can be applied to the effect signal. An integrated pre-delay section makes it possible to create modulated and diffuse echo effects.

Acon Digital Multiply is available free of charge for both Windows (PC) and OS X (Macintosh). Both 32 and 64-bit versions are available, and the plug-in formats VST, AAX and Audio Units (OS X only) are supported.

GHi is a resonant high-pass filter. It is used to remove all frequencies from a signal below a given cut-off point.

Increasing the resonance of the filter causes the frequencies around the cut-off to be boosted.

Resonance can create large peaks in the output. Because of this, the GUI features a peak display showing the maximum peak output level. The peak display is reset by clicking on it.

High-pass filters are especially useful for removing unwanted or inaudible bass frequencies. In a mix, you usually want the bass to come from one or two specific tracks. Removing the bass from the other tracks can make mixing easier and help eliminate "mud" from the final mix.

ADT - Artificial Double Tracking is a plug-in which emulates the "Artificial Double Tracking" technique invented by The Beatles at Abbey Road Studios. It takes a mono input signal and generates a stereo signal with the original signal panned to one side and the ADT signal panned to the other.

ADT - Artificial Double Tracking

The ADT technique was developed at Abbey Road Studios by engineers recording The Beatles in the 1960s. To free John Lennon from having to sing everything twice for real double tracking they came up with an artificial replacement: they sent the original signal to another tape machine and re-recorded it. Due to the physical distance between record and playback heads the new signal was delayed. The length of the delay depends on the tape speed (the slower the tape is running the longer it takes for the signal to travel from the record to the playback head). However, due to the machine's (small amounts of) Wow and Flutter the delay time was not fixed but varied slightly, giving an additional chorus-like effect. 

The ADT plug-in takes a mono input signal and creates a stereo output. The original input signal will be output on one channel, the new ADT signal on the other. Blending the two is also possible. The plug-in allows to control the delay time (10 - 50ms), Wow and Flutter (both with intensity in % and frequency). All values are based on the technical data of the tape machines that was originally used to create this effect.

Controls:

• Delay: the time the ADT signal is delayed, 10 - 50 ms.
• Dra Level: the level of the original signal.
• ADT Level: the level of the ADT signal.
• ADT Pan: the pan position of the ADT signal, the original signal is positioned at the opposite side.
• Wow: amount of low frequency playback speed variation, 0 - 0.2%.
• WowFreq.: low frequency playback speed variation rate, 0 - 6Hz.
• Waveform: waveform of Wow, Sine or Triangle.
• Flutter: amount of high frequency playback speed variation, 0 - 0.2%.
• FlutFreq.: high frequency playback speed variation rate, 4 - 60Hz.
